EVALUATION OF SIDE-STUB AND HYPOCOTYLE GRAFTING EFFICIENCY FOR WALNUT PROPAGATION IN IRAN |

| Abstract:
Side-stub grafting of one and two-year-old seedlings and hypocotyl grafting of two-month seedlings of Persian walnut was compared. In side-stub grafting all grafted rootstocks made good calluses all around the wounded area in one month. Healing rate of two-year-old rootstocks was better than one-year-old ones. Grafting success in side-stub and hypocotyle grafts was 98 and 70%, respectively. Transferring the grafted plants from moist sawdust to the greenhouse led to cease of growth of roots. | |
