| Abstract:
The Reproductive Genetic Theory believes that the genotype of diploid plant obtained by parthenocarpy, is pure. Juglans regia L. plants, characterised by early maturity, and giving rive to parthenocarpic fruits exist in the Chinese Xinjiang Province. Using the early maturation character and inducing the segregation, we obtained more than 480 walnut parthenocarpic fruits. This method could generate valuable varieties in relatively short time, and could be a useful tool to fix characters in the genetic improvement programmes. | |
