Abstract:
The effectiveness of Bordeaux mixture (0.5%) and copper oxychloride (0.3%) was assessed alone or in combination with essential oils (EO) from Thymus vulgaris and Satureia hortensis plants against Erwinia amylovora under laboratory and field conditions.
Streptomycin (100 ppm), Serenade (1%) and Bordeaux mixture plus mancozeb (0.5% : 0.04%) served as positive controls.
Results obtained from in vitro and in vivo assays indicated significant effects of both essential oils in the control of fire blight disease, particularly in combination with copper oxychloride.
