Abstract:
Controlled apricot progeny obtained by crossing ´Vestar´ (susceptible) × ´SEO´(resistant), in segregation for sharka susceptibility, was used as a case study.
Each clone was evaluated for its susceptibility either by grafting onto apricot infected trees or by grafting on to the woody indicator GF-305. The inoculation was done by isolate PPV-M in Lednice and PPV-D in Avignon.
The same ratio resistant vs sensitive accessions has been observed in the two locations, with slight differences on few seedlings.
The segregation rate sensitive vs resistant (3:1) fits the hypothesis of two independent dominant loci.
