The consumption of oil for greenhouse heating is about 1. 6 to 1. 8 % of the total oil consumption of the Federal Republic of Germany. For the horticultural production of crops in greenhouses the energy costs are more than 25 % of the price for the selled crops. That's why we have to find cheaper energy sources.
