ISHS Acta Horticulturae 699: I International Symposium on Improving the Performance of Supply Chains in the Transitional Economies

COMPARISON BETWEEN MEASURED AND PREDICTED VENTILATION RATES IN A NATURALLY VENTILATED GREENHOUSE

Authors:   U. Tuntiwaranuruk, S. Thepa, S. Tia, S. Bhumiratana, A. Krasaechai
Keywords:   greenhouse, natural ventilation, ventilation rates
Abstract:
A naturally ventilated greenhouse with ridge and side openings in a tropical region has to deal with high temperatures, which adversely affect crop growth. Increasing ventilation rate decreases temperature in the greenhouse. Ventilation rates were predicted using the energy balance method and a model based on wind and buoyancy forces. Good agreement was obtained between prediction and measurement.
