Abstract:
The efficacy of the repeated use of biofumigation plus solarization (from 2 to 5 years) with a gradual decrease in the amount of organic amendment applied for biofumigation from 10 to 2.5 kg m-2, has been evaluated in a greenhouse infested by Meloidogyne incognita. Soil disinfestation was carried out the last ten days of August each year.
The trials with organic amendments were compared with MB at 30 g m-2 with VIF plastic film and untreated soil.
Treatments were randomized in a complete block design with three replicates.
The reiteration of biofumigation + solarization over two years had the same control with M. incognita as the methyl bromide.
Similar results were obtained to weed control.
Plant growth was lower than methyl bromide and yield was similar or higher than methyl bromide and untreated.
