ISHS Acta Horticulturae 696: VII International Symposium on Temperate Zone Fruits in the Tropics and Subtropics - Part Two

COMPARATIVE IN VITRO EVALUATION OF ACARICIDES FOR INTRINSIC AND PERSISTENT TOXICITY AGAINST MITES (PANONYCHUS ULMI KOCH AND TETRANYCHUS URTICAE KOCH) ON APPLE

Authors:   A. Nath, S. Mahajan
Keywords:   acaricides, apple, European red mite, two spotted spider mite, toxicity
Abstract:
Toxicity of several acaricides to Panonychus ulmi, Tetranychus urticae and the predatory mite, Amblyseius longispinosus evaluated using slide dip and leaf dip methods in the laboratory. Fenazaquin was found to be most toxic to both species of mite and this toxicity persisted for 15 days under field conditions. There were differences in acaricide toxicities to different populations of mite showing built up of resistance and differences in the two species of mite.
