EVALUATION OF SOME POMEGRANATE (PUNICA GRANATUM L.) CULTIVARS UNDER MID HILLS OF HIMACHAL PRADESH

Abstract:
An evaluation study was undertaken on eight cultivars of pomegranate to assess their performance under mid hill conditions of Himachal Pradesh. Among the cultivars studied Chawla was most vigorous. Kandhari Hansi was found to be the best with respect to average fruit weight, fruit colour, time of maturity, yield, aril size and aril colour. Cultivar G-137 was best with respect to juice percentage, acidity and TSS/ acidity ratio.
