| Abstract:
Present study was carried out during 1997-99 in four districts of Himachal Pradesh. Based on important characters viz., regularity in bearing, density of branching, catkin length, pollen shedding duration, female flowering, degree of dichogamy, maturity, yield efficiency, structure of shell surface, adherence of two halves, nut weight, nut width, nut thickness, pad width, pad thickness, shell thickness, ease of kernel removal, intensity of brown colour, primary and secondary inner dividing membranes, kernel weight, kernel percentage, fat percentage, protein percentage, taste and flavour; thirty eight elite seedling trees are described. | |
