Abstract:
The article discusses some of the issues in relation to problems of chestnut forests in the southwestern part of Bulgaria.
A dendrochronological investigation on the influence of Loranthus europaeus L. on the development of chestnut is presented.
The results show that in the regions with less infections of the canker, the most important factors for healthy chestnut trees are the hydrothermic regime and the number and the age of the parasite.
