Abstract:
‘Exploter’ is a very innovative early-medium cultivar of artichoke; the plant is vigorous, very high-yielding and resistant to different environmental conditions.
Its yield is shared in two parts: the first one is located in the upper part of the plant and consists of 7-9 big heads that together with the main capitulum are good for fresh consumption; the second one is made of many offshoots, almost contemporary, that come out from the bottom of the caulis, yielding between 20 and 30 small heads to be used in the processing industry.
The main head is interesting for its large size, as well as the secondary globe shaped and violet coloured ones with greenish-blue reflections.
Heads are very compact, with short ‘pappus’ and very good taste.
