CREATING AND IMPLEMENTING CASES FOR PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING IN HORTICULTURE

Authors:   P.A. Jolliffe, S.E. Binns, A.R. Riseman
Keywords:   case writing, case studies, tutorial
Abstract:
Widely used in medical education, problem-based learning (PBL) has been seldom used for teaching horticulture. In part, this may be due to a lack of suitable PBL cases for horticultural instruction. Since 1999, more than 130 PBL cases have been written in our Faculty, about 25 of them in horticulture. This paper will consider principles and examples of horticultural case writing and use, based on our experiences.
