Abstract:
The Muresk Institute is at the forefront of excellence and innovation in tertiary education in agribusiness in Australia and the region.
In part, this position was achieved by involving stakeholders in curriculum development.
Stakeholders were involved in scenario and strategic planning and they provided the basis for the development of a holistic agribusiness model that was later transformed into an educational model.
Learning is considered to be more effective if it is student centred, flexible and encourages innovation and life long learning.
A key element of the framework was the development of a cognitive, professional and generic skills matrix developed in association with staff, students, alumni and industry.
This matrix is continuously evolving as Muresk courses adapt to a dynamic industry and changing educational environment.
Timely and quality feedback is an integral part of the learning process for students and reflective teaching practice for staff.
