Abstract:
During a 2-year period, 104 species of leafhoppers were collected by different kinds of traps in and around two selected chlorotic leaf roll diseased apricot orchards.
Of those species Fieberieiia florii St*l were most abundant.
Notes on its life history, host plants and general ecology are given.
These species appears to have 1 generation/year in the field but develops successive generations without diapause under artificial conditions.
No typical symptoms were expressed in first transmission tests neither on apricot nor on periwinkle.
The importance of 2 additional species as possible vectors is also discussed.
