Abstract:
15 chemicals were tested against fruit tree viruses and myoplasmas.
Apple chlorotic leaf spot, pear vein yellows and plum pox (sharka) viruses and rubbery wood mycoplasma were eliminated from the tips and buds of fruit trees by chemical treatments in greenhouse.
The inhibiting effect of chemicals was also established for apple mosaic and cherry necrotic ring spot viruses.
The most effective chemicals were tetracycline and oxytetracycline.
