Abstract:
The factors affecting declined syndrome of longan trees in northern Thailand were investigated.
Soil and leaf samples were collected from 12 orchards.
Nine orchards have both declined and normal trees while the rest has only normal trees.
The results of mineral nutrient analyses indicated that the soils of the declined orchards had high contents of macro-nutrients but were short of micro-nutrients.
As a consequence, concentrations of micro-nutrients in the leaves of the declined orchards were lower and the new leaf flushes were smaller than those of the normal orchards.
