LYCHEE PRODUCTION IN TAIWAN

Abstract:
Lychee (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) was originated in southern China, and was introduced into Taiwan over three hundred years ago. It was just after about one hundred years later of initial emigration of Taiwanese ancestor, who emigrated from southern China to Taiwan, due to this relationship, major good lychee cultivars of China were easily introduced to here. The introduction of lychee has been continually done to enrich germplasm collection.
