Abstract:
The Navarran lands which form the so-called Ebro corridor and which stretch from Mendavia to Cortes have always been, and still are the most important market garden vegetable growing areas in the province.
The lower reaches of the rivers Ega, Arga and Aragón, together with the banks of the river Ebro, constitute an ecosystem suitable for the production of different horticultural species as grown by local farmers who, well versed in the methods of irrigation farming, use water in order to enhance the natural fertility of the land rather than as a means by which to achieve high yields....
