MULTIPLEX DETECTION OF PLANT (QUARANTINE) PATHOGENS BY MICRO-ARRAYS: AN INNOVATIVE TOOL FOR PLANT HEALTH MANAGEMENT

Authors:   C.D. Schoen, M. de Weerdt, M. Szemes, P. Bonants, R. van Beuningen, A. Chan, R. Hilhorst, P. Boender
Abstract:
Micro-array technology provides the next generation of DNA diagnostics to measure different pathogens in a massively parallel manner on a single chip. For each pathogen many different targets can be detected in parallel, which will improve specificity, allow detection of pathogenic variants of the target and avoids laborious confirmation procedures. A porous capillary solid phase micro-array system is shown for plant-pathogenic Phytophthora spp. multiplex detection.
