Abstract:
Qualified as a quarantine pest, the research conducted with Plum pox virus (PPV) is apparently divergent when referred to the main actors involved.
Recognition of symptoms, routine techniques for transferring PPV to biological indexing plants are among the basic key-points adopted but did not always converge to the similar results.
Even if PPV is recognized as replicating in Prunus species, that is not absolute because the timing and the basic knowledge about plant virus interactions represent the limiting factors that did make easy such targeted tasks.
We report here the basic strategy we developed for characterizing PPV.
