Abstract:
Table grape breeding program in Hungary aims for new table grape cultivars resistant to downy mildew, powdery mildew and grey rot, with high cold hardiness.
Some new candidate cultivars were submitted for state registration in the last few years.
The National Institute for Agricultural Quality Control has tested these new Hungarian crossings.
The state registration automatically authorises them for multiplication and cultivation.
The trials were conducted at two places on the following candidate table grape cultivars: R.65 (Eszter), R.78 (Fanny), KM.309 (Sarolta), R.73 (Flóra), R.71 (Opus), R.90 (Angéla), N. 127, N.128, N.200, N.53. The candidates are compared with the state registered, resistant cultivars Nero, Palatina, Pölöskei muskotály, Teréz.
This paper includes physiological, biological and technological characteristics of the tested cultivars.
