Abstract:
The effect of pruning and bud loading on the growth, fertility and quality of grape (Vitis vinifera L. ،Grenache،) and wine was investigated during 1995, 1996 and 1997 years in agro ecological condition of Cemovsko field.
Four variants of pruning were applied: two with spur pruning and bud loading of 12 and 15 buds per vine and two with half-cane pruning and bud loading of 18 and 24 buds per vine. After three years of investigation, based on the analyzed data, the following conclusions were drawn: spur pruning system had a depressing effect on vine productivity but on vine capacity was beneficial; half-cane pruning system had a more favorable effect on vine productivity and less favorable on vine capacity.
It was demonstrated by the higher number of burst buds and clusters per vine; the number of clusters was highest on vine with highest buds per vine, as well as yield which was 12,1 t/ha.Vice versa, sugar and total acid contents and its ratio in must were also favorable in variants with moderate bud loads (15 and 18 buds per vine) and enabled the production of quality wine.
Wine produced from its grape obtained the highest tasting score.
