Abstract:
An approach to orchard design and management is described which integrates the bearing surface of individual trees into a continuous hedgerow.
A trellis is used as an aid in training and control of the orchard bearing surface.
This method utilizes a systems approach to production by integrating various biological, physical and economic facets to improve efficiency in the use of labor and machines, and to maximize quality yield for increased returns on investment.
