Abstract:
Within the COST Project 836, 26 strawberry cultivars grouped into three sets have been evaluated from 1999 to 2003 at 10 experimental sites in central Europe, covering a broad range of climatic and geographical conditions.
The strawberries were evaluated for robustness, production, tolerance to pests and diseases, fruit appearance, sensory attributes and shelf life ability.
For each criterion and set the cultivars with the highest median are mentioned.
In addition the cultivars with the highest general value for each site are shown.
Finally, hierarchic cluster-analysis were carried out to show the cultivars with the best profile for each site and set.
