Abstract:
During nine years of the breeding programme, about 50,000 seedlings, derived from 630 cross combinations, were evaluated.
Currently 103 selections are being studies which show interesting agronomic characteristics associated with high adaptation to these culture conditions.
Among the 30 most promising selections, evaluated in different cultivation conditions, two were named ‘Adria’ and ‘Sveva’ (CPVO application). They demonstrate stable and homogeneous improved productivity and good quality combined with a late harvesting season.
