Abstract:
Aeroponics involves spraying plant roots with a fine mist of a complete nutrient solution.
At Massey University we have used aeroponics for both plant research and for crop production, and have developed systems for growing vegetable crops eg. tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes and herbs, and flower crops Lisianthus and Zantedeschia.
Aeroponic techniques have also been used as a research tool to examine gas levels in the root zone, crop nutrition and root growth.
