Abstract:
The net photosynthetic rate and stomatal resistance of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) were measured and the ultrastructure of stomata and chloroplasts were observed to study the effects of different soil moisture on the growth of cucumber growing in solar greenhouse.
The stomatal density and resistance were enhanced when soil moisture decreased, but were reduced with net photosynthetic rate.
The number of chloroplasts per cell and number of amyloids per chloroplast were lower when soil water moisture was lower.
At the same time, the grana lamella were thinner and disintegrated, the thylakoids were swollen, and the chloroplasts were deformed.
