Abstract:
Carrots grown in 25 different locations in the Rhone valley have been stored during 7 months at 0 and 3°C. This is a survey of their behaviour during storage.
The state of preservation of each batch has been related to crop rotation, soil structure, soil nutrient balance, and juice analysis before and after cool storage.
The results show the effect of storage température, crop rotation and organic manuring on rots due to Stemphylium radicinum, Botrytis cinerea and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
