Abstract:
Four varieties of tomato were tested for changes in colour, sugars, acids and firmness during storage.
TMV resistant varieties 'Stella' and "Sonata" had more colour than did 'Grower Pride' and 'Reverdan'. TMV varieties had more acids and sugars than non-resistant varieties.
Weight losses during storage were influenced greatly by use or non-use of film packaging and also the type of film.
