RESPIRATION RATE OF ONION BULBS DEPENDING ON THE TEMPERATURE, O2 AND CO2 CONCENTRARION OF THE ATMOSPHERE

| Author: | F. Adamicki |
Abstract:
Respiration rates of onion bulbs Allium cepa L. were determined in CA-storage and in air at 10°C. It was observed that the previous storage temperature of onions was a very influential factor on the respiration rates at 10°C. The rate of respiration of onions bulbs was the lowest at the beginning of the storage period and increased greatly in January after 5 months of storage.
