Abstract:
A nutritional survey was conducted over four years in ‘Qinmei’ kiwifruit orchards in Shaanxi Province, the main kiwifruit growing area in China.
The results showed that leaf nutrient elements in local orchards were low in potassium, chloride and phosphorus, and high in magnesium, calcium and nitrogen according to recommended concentrations.
Soil was low in organic matter, and soil fertility status and the amounts of fertilizer applied were very different from those reported in the literature.
Balanced fertilization is one of the important measures to produce high quality kiwifruit, so studies of this nature are needed to provide guidelines for growing particular varieties in different locations.
