Abstract:
Fruit vitamin C (Vc), soluble solids content (SSC), and soluble tannin content (STC) were determined in two successive years for 39 cultivars of persimmon including 10 PCNA, 9 PVNA and 20 PCA cultivars.
Data were subject to analysis of variance.
Vc content in PCNA and PVNA cultivars was significantly higher than in PCA cultivars (P<0.01), STC significantly lower (P<0.01), and the difference in SSC in the 3 types of cultivars was not significant.
Vc content in PCNA was far higher than in PVNA (P<0.05). Results may be used to develop an index for cultivar selection in persimmon production and breeding, also the result maybe a slightly evidence which former researcher classified 4 types in persimmon cultivars.
