ROOTING OF HARDWOOD CUTTINGS OF PYRUS CALLERYANAI IN RESPONSE TO SHADING, OPAQUE WRAPPING, AND IBA

Authors:   N.N.J. Chalfun, J.M.R. Reis, M. Pasqual, J.M. Cavalcante-Alves, L.F. Dutra, J.V. Bianchi
Keywords:   vegetative propagation, etiolation, cutting, pear tree, rootstock, IBA, Pyrus calleryana
Abstract:
Mother plant shading to 70% by wrapping branches with opaque tape, or applications of 2 gL-1 IBA to hardwood cuttings did not improve rooting in Pyrus calleryana D-6, a useful rootstock for pear in Brazil. The highest rooting (65%) was achieved in the control (no shade, nonbanded, no IBA).
