Abstract:
An in vitro study was conducted to determine the effect of IBA and medium concentration on rooting and shoot growth of Pyrus betulaefolia L., a promising pear rootstock in Brazil.
High rooting was achieved with 1 and 5 mgL-1 IBA and wounding enhanced rooting in combination with 0.25 and 0.5 mgL-1. The longest shoots with the best quality were obtained on a 75% salts MS medium and 4.0 mgL-1 IBA.
