Authors:   L. Rivalta, M. Dradi
Keywords:   Pyrus, breeding, July ripening, fruit quality, early cropping
Abstract:
The Istituto Sperimentale per la Frutticoltura, Forlì Section (ISF-FO) released three new pear cultivars Turandot, Norma, and Carmen. These three genotypes have been selected from a ‘Dr. J. Guyot’ × ‘Bella di Giugno’ cross carried out in 1980 by L. Rivalta, and are characterized by early cropping, very early ripening (July) and remarkable fruit organoleptic characteristics. The main features of the three cultivars are described.
