Abstract:
‘Sabina’, a new summer pear cultivar, was obtained by E. Bellini at Florence in 1971 from the cross ‘Santa Maria Morettini’ x ‘Doyenné du Comice’. It ripens in the second half of August, a little before ‘Williams’, and is outstanding for the good appearance and quality of the fruits.
Details are given of its fruit characteristics, storage, tree habit, cropping and pollination.
