Abstract:
In Sardinia, the bioagronomical behaviour and the main phenological parameters of 16 almond cultivars were evaluated during the first 5 production years – from 1996 to 2000. The best yields were observed on self-fertile cultivars, like 'Tuono', 'Supernova' (both are characterized by a high percentage of double kernels), 'Lauranne' and 'Pepparudda'. The cultivars 'Fellamasa', 'Tuono', 'Falsa Barese' and 'Supernova' showed a high kernel percentage, whereas 'Pizzuta d’Avola', 'Sannicandro' and 'Fascionello' were found to have the highest shell percentage.
