Abstract:
Relations between virulence, motility, flagellin production and the Hrp system were studied with a wild-type strain of Erwinia amylovora and a non-motile strain as well as hrp mutants.
Results showed that motility plays a key role in targetting the proper infection site, and confirm that motility is not essential for pathogenicity.
In vitro results of motility and flagellin production suggest that there is a link between the regulation of the Hrp apparatus and the motility of E. amylovora.
