THE ADVANCEMENT OF PEAR BREEDING IN RECENT TWENTY YEARS IN CHINA

Abstract:
The advancement of pear breeding in the recent 20 years in China is summarized. It consists of specific properties of 60 pear varieties of new breeding and characteristic of pear breeding; the present status of pear germplasm on investigating, gathering, conserving, researching, appraising and utilizing pear. Studies on the inheritance trends of many characteristics of pear filial generations; research on the methods increasing efficiency of pear breeding is also addressed.
