Abstract:
This study was carried out to determine the adaptation ability of 15 olive cultivars in the Marmara region.
In the trial, Gemlik, Edincik Su, Karamursel Su, Samanli, Domat, Uslu, Kan zeytini, Tavsan Yuregi, Buyuk Topak Ulak, Yuvarlak Halhali, Lucques, Ascolano, Manzanilla, Hojiblanca and Meski olive cultivars were examined.
The trial was carried out at the Ataturk Central Horticultural Research Institute, in 1983. Phenological observations were made and pomological as well as yield data were recorded between 1989-1996.
Six olive cultivars were found to be promising based on the evaluations of data; Samanli, Domat, Tavsan Yuregi, Ascolano, as green table olive and Gemlik, Hojiblanca black table olive.
