Abstract:
Among more than 5000 olive seedlings obtained by crossbreeding, within the program of genetic improvement carried on by E. Bellini of the Department of Horticulture at Florence University, 200 selections have been identified as superior genotypes for different traits. The advanced selections DOFI-OL.037.027, DOFI-OL.037.125 and DOFI-OL.037.135 present interesting oil composition, as resulted from a large spectrum of analytical parameters and indices.
