Abstract:
In attempts to determine the causal agents of the full blossom disease in red and white currants extensive electron microscopy study was conducted.
Ultra-thin sections from different parts of 15 cultivars from 3 locations were assayed to verify the finding of mycoplasma-like bodies by Rakús et al. (1974). Neither characteristic phytoplasma bodies nor rhabdo, bacilliform or filamentous virus-like particles which were reported previously from currants infected with other diseases were observed.
