Abstract:
The yield and fruit size of two blackcurrant cultivars, ‘Ben Lomond’ and ‘Titania’, graft-inoculated with two forms of reversion virus (E - European and R – severe, “Russian type”) were investigated in a field experiment in 1996-2000. The results presented in this paper are a continuation of previous studies from this experiment (Pluta and Żurawicz 1999, Pluta et al., 2000). Additional data collected in the season of 2000 showed further yield reduction in reverted plants from 86.2 to 90.0 % for ‘Ben Lomond’ and 82.4 to 84.7 % for Titania’ as compared to healthy plants.
A similar reduction was produced in fruit size, calculated as a weight of 100 berries (in g).
