Authors:   S. SOCIU, N. SINDILE, C. RAICU, M. COSTACHE, G.H. MARINESCU, S. MIHÄILESCU, C. DIACONESCU, A. JILAVEANU
Abstract:
The researches were developed in order to obtain new F1 greenhouse tomato hybrids, early and productive, with superior fruit qualities, resistent against diseases and pests.

In the first series of works, the resistence genes Mi, I1, Ve, Cf1, 2, 3 were utilised. One immunity and two tolerant cultural sources of resistance against Corynebacterium michiganense were also discovered. In the second series, the researches were developed intensively to associate the genes Tm22, Tm2 and Tm with the other resistences.

The first F1 hybrids are verified in variety trials in order to be patented. They excell in firmness and other fruit qualities, being early and highly productive. The breeding material resulting from the second series of works shows superior capacity of prolificity and quality.

The breeding program was acomplished concomitently by a complex team of breeders and phytopatologists — that led to a significant acceleration of the works.
