| Abstract:
Due to the steady increase of domestic and export demands, egg-plant growing in greenhouses and solaria has been considerably extended in recent years. Whereas in 1960 such crops covered only an insignificant area, they represented 160 ha. in 1975 and further increase to about 500–600 ha is expected in the next decade. New tasks are thus set to breeders an earlier and better adapted to greenhouse conditions varieties will be needed in order to meet domestic and expert market requirements. | |
