BIOCHEMICAL PECULIARITIES OF TOMATO PLANTS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF FILTRED LIGHT, MINERAL NUTRITION AND OF SOME STIMULATORS

Authors:   I. BRAD, M. BALASA, E. GLODEANU, G. MARINESCU, D. RIZAN
Abstract:
Some biochemical peculiarities of hot — house tomatoes as a result of the influence of light, mineral nutrition and some stimulators.

Tomatoes were cultivated in red, yellow, blue and white light after being differentially fertilized or treated with macro and microelements, with or without the addition of physiologically active compounds.

Total nitrogen and mineralization, C-Vitamine contents, catalase and peroxidase activity show substantial differencies. Correlations were made and explanations were given for the production characteristics and quality of the crops.

The understanding of the biochemistry of the effects of parameters studied, allow the formulation of overall ways for improving the quality and the yields of tomato crops.
