MORPHOLOGICAL AND ANATOMICAL MODIFICATIONS OF TOMATOES UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TREATMENT WITH RETARDANT SUBSTANCES

Authors:   P. CHILOM, M. BALASA, F. POPESCU
Abstract:
Foliar treatments with retardant RR41, single treatment or associated with foliar fertilizer F231 on tomatoes seedling have been effectuated. Morphological and anatomical modifications influenced by treatments have been observed.

Retardant treatment has diminished seedling height and increased stems diameter. Leaves number was not obviously influenced by treatments. Flower buds number has been increased only by RR41 treatment. The fertilizer F231 has diminished the effect of RR41 thus cell dimensions have been not so much modified under the influence of this substance. Retardant treatment have increased stomata density per mm2. It has also been modified their dimensions. The number of collenchyme layers and xylem have been increased. These modifications have determined a vigurous and resistent seedling.
