| Abstract:
The goal of this paper is to introduce a successful story of 'Horticulture' plus 'Engineering' and to show that the next promising future in the global Bio-Industry lies in part in the world of the controlled environment agriculture (CEA). The success of Sunrise Biotechnology Co., Ltd set a good model for the development of CEA in Taiwan. Decision support system was developed to aid the decision-making process in all aspects of renovation. This paper will first introduce the development of a 2-story plant factory with multi-layers of moving light and benches and secondly, reveal the guidelines and analysis related to the selection of profitable crops and fixed and operating costs of using artificial moving light. | |
