The symposium covered various horticultural and engineering aspects of tropical and subtropical greenhouse design and environmental control related topics.
They were categorized into 8 sessions including: “Past, Present and Future of Controlled Environment Agriculture”, “Environmental Control”, “Innovated Design”, “Integrated Pest Management and Fertigation”, “Controlled Environment Crop Production”, “Monitoring, Control and Decision Support”, “Simulation” and “Poster”.
The number of registered attendants to this symposium was 180 including 48 international guests from 14 Nations.
The number of guests from each country are as follow: Australia (2), France (1), Germany (2), Israel (4), Italy (1), Japan (11), Korea (8), Malaysia (2), New Zealand (1), Philippines (1), ROC on Taiwan (132), The Netherlands (1), UK (3) and USA (10).

Corp. and Taiwan Sugar Corp. in the afternoon.
This symposium was sponsored by the Commission for Protected Cultivation and the Commission for Engineering of the ISHS as one of their joint activitie, the Chinese Society for Horticultural Science and the Chinese Institute of Agricultural Machinery as one of their special activities.
